A. All of our electric golf carts are registered as a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV). They are street legal, four-wheeled electric golf carts with a top speed of 25mph. Hawaii allows LSVs to drive on roads marked 35 mph or less.

Q. Can I drive a LSV on Maui County’s public roads?
A. Yes, of our electric golf carts are permitted on Maui and Oahu’s County roads of less than a maximum of 35 mph.

Q. Do I need to charge the LSV & what is required?
A. Yes, there is an on-board lithium battery pack but you must have access to a regular 110v outlet for periodic charging. We include the adapter to the cart & 25ft extension cord. Please indicate if you will need a longer extension cord.
Q. How long does the vehicle take to fully charge?
A. The vehicles take approximately 3.5 – 4 hours to fully charge.
Q. What is the range of the vehicle after it has been fully charged?
A. The vehicles have an approximate 35-40 mile range per full charge depending on hills, weight and speed traveling.
Q. Is pickup and drop off available? Can I have my vehicle delivered?
A. Yes, we have vehicle pickup available at our South Maui location 380 Huku Lii Pl #108, Kihei, HI 96753

Q. What is the delivery fee?
A. There are different delivery/return fees for different regions of the island. There is a discount for multi-vehicle deliveries to the same location.

Q. What is your Cancellation Policy?
A. Cancellation Policy & Reservations Prepaid:
Golf Carts/LSV’s – reservations canceled at least 14 days prior to the start of the reservation will receive a full refund. Reservations canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
Q. How old do I need to be in order to operate a LSV from Island EV Rentals?
A. 25 years of age.
Q. Do I need to carry my driver's license and proof of auto insurance when I operate a vehicle rented from Island EV Rentals?
A. Yes, and Yes. Always. No exceptions.
Q. Can more than one driver in my party drive the vehicle?
A. Additional drivers must be identified in the rental contract at the time of booking, must be licensed to drive and provide a copy of current driver’s licesnse and also provide proof of auto insurance to Island EV Rentals just as the primary driver/renter does.
Q. Do I have to wear my seatbelt?
A. Like regular driving laws, you agree to always wear seatbelt while operating our vehicles.
Q. Can I put surf racks on these vehicles?
A. No, if you are planning to transport SUP’s (max 2 qty at one time) and/or surfboards, just let us know and we will provide the proper roof padding.
Q. Do you require a credit card in order to book a reservation?
A. Yes, you must have a valid Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit card. We do not accept American Express, cash or bitcoin.
Q. How much is the prepaid damage deposit fee?
A. We charge a $500 prepaid damage deposit fee is held on all of our reservations. Damage deposits are refundable based on the renter returning the vehicle in the condition it was received and signed off on by the renter. More conditions apply, see our terms and conditions for more information.
Q. What happens if I am involved in an accident?
A. You must: (a) report all damage to us and all accidents to us and the police as soon as you discover them and complete our incident report form; and (b) provide us with a legible copy of any service of process, pleading, or notice of any kind related to an accident or other incident involving the Vehicle.
